Biography

Claire Zuazo is an environmental management specialist with 12 years of experience designing and implementing USAID-, Global Environment Facility-, and International Finance Corporation- funded biodiversity conservation, forest management, climate change adaptation, and livelihood activities. She has experience working in Asia, West Africa, and Latin America. Ms. Zuazo is currently the home office director for the USAID/Colombia Natural Wealth Program and also serves as an environmental compliance advisor for Chemonics’ bilateral programs, ensuring adherence with 22 CFR 216 and climate risk management regulations. She began her career as a Peace Corps microenterprise and community tourism volunteer in Bolivia. Ms. Zuazo holds a BA in urban and environmental planning from the University of Virginia.
