Summary

The Natural Capital Protocol for the Ocean is a framework to help businesses answer questions such as: How does your business depend upon ocean resources? How is this ocean natural capital changing and what risks and opportunities does this present? Which resources, information or expertise do you need?

As part of this initiative, the Center for Biodiversity Outcomes is working with key international partners to host a series of workshops to define and develop content for this oceans supplement to the Natural Capital Protocol. Workshop objectives include:

  1. Discussing and reaching agreement on key issues that will inform the overall focus and guidance provided;
  2. Engaging the ASU community and partners to provide feedback and contribute to later development phases;
  3. Developing a strategy for a value proposition and technical wireframe for the NCP for the Oceans;
  4. Discussing communication strategy, engagement and next steps of project implementation.
