Arizona Riparian Council Series
The Arizona Water Blueprint: A Map for Arizona's Water Resilience

Susan Craig

  • Water Policy Analyst, Kyl Center for Water Policy

The Kyl Center for Water Policy’s signature project, the Arizona Water Blueprint, is an innovative interactive map of the state’s water resources and infrastructure. Rich with data, the Blueprint is designed to foster holistic water resource thinking and informed water policy discussions to influence sound water stewardship in the state. Offering opportunities for both free exploration and guided tours, the Blueprint will feature detailed information about proposed augmentation projects and the long-term water resilience of communities throughout the state.

At ASU’s Kyl Center for Water Policy, Susan leads projects on water resilience, working to develop a “blueprint” for meeting the state’s future water needs. Having worked for Arizona’s three primary state water agencies and leading programs for 20 years, Susan has a vast knowledge of the state’s water issues, policies and players. She led the Arizona Department of Water Resources' drought and conservation programs, worked to protect watersheds through assessment and funding at the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, and focused on promoting vital infrastructure investments at the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona. She has led numerous committees, including the Clean Colorado River Alliance and Governor’s Drought Task Force Interagency Coordinating Group.

This event is co-sponsored by the Arizona Riparian Council and the Biodiversity Knowledge Integration Center, Arizona State University.
