Covering Climate Change

What are the most effective and compelling ways to report on and write about the climate crisis? What kinds of stories resonate with readers and may influence change?

Hear from Brian Kahn, managing editor of Earther at Gizmodo, and Susanne Rust, an investigative reporter specializing in environmental issues for the Los Angeles Times, who will share their experience, insights and challenges covering climate change.

Moderated by Jake Nelson, assistant professor at ASU's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and an affiliate of the Narrative Storytelling Initiative.

This is the first in a series of events to better understand and improve climate change discourse. The series is part of a research project exploring narrative impact involving several scholars at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
