Gelfuel Stoves in Ghana

Summary: Smoky cooking is one of the major causes of childhood death in the developing world.  GlobalResolve has made available a small production facility in a Ghanaian village for gelled ethanol as a smokeless cooking fuel.  The process and still were developed as an undergraduate project over several semesters.  To make this product viable, a business plan must show price parity with charcoal and even then it is likely to be used only in urban areas where free wood is not available.
