The GREEN program offers interested students short-term, experiential learning opportunities in Iceland, Peru, Japan, and Hawai'i. Each program is designed around the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals with an emphasis on hands-on learning in real-world scenarios while being immersed in new cultural contexts. Students can explore sustainability issues in:
- Renewable energy
- Water resource management
- Community food systems, energy, and the World Youth Congress
- Disaster mitigation and nuclear to renewable transitions
The GREEN Program was created by curious, adventurous students who care about climate change and creating a more sustainable future. GREEN states, "Our programs are catered to students who are curious about the world and seek opportunities to adventure, break outside of their comfort zones, and stand out amongst their peers as global citizens. We don’t want students to choose between a job, internship, or a study abroad experience. We want them to do it all." GREEN Program opportunities occur in summer, spring, or winter break depending on the program.
