Biography

Cyrus is a junior in the Barrett Honors College majoring in biological sciences. He joined the Cease lab in 2019 and has performed duties regarding locusts' reproductive success and the composition of the food they eat. In the lab, he has performed dissections on locusts collected from different villages in Africa. Additionally, he has ground samples of plants that locusts eat and conducted chemical assays on them. This is to analyze their compositions to help better understand locust food habits and help combat locust infestations affecting agriculture causing food shortages in villages in Africa.
