Rethinking Governance from a Dutch Perspective: The Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Case
Bart de Jong
- Strategic Advisor, Economic and Aviation Affairs
- Municipality of Haarlemmermeer
The decision-making process concerning complex governance systems, such as Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AAS), is incremental and highly indecisive due to its ambiguous, multi-actor character. In this talk, de Jong will discuss the current governance situation around AAS and how innovations in policy making can shed a different light on Schiphol’s deadlocked situation.
de Jong is directly involved in the decision-making process concerning Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. In 2012 he published his dissertation focusing on complex problems and policy deadlocks dominating the governance systems of Schiphol and how to break free from them.
