Sustainability After School Site Tour: City of Phoenix Transfer Station and Compost Facility

You are invited to the City of Phoenix site tour of the 27th Avenue Transfer Station and state-of-the art composting facility. Both sites sit on approximately 27 acres within the Resource Innovation Campus (RIC), a campus that aims to be a hub for innovators to develop Phoenix's circular economy and find sustainability solutions. The 27th Avenue Compost Facility is the first solid waste infrastructure project in the United States, and the first project in Arizona, to earn Envision recognition from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure. The Envision system rates sustainable infrastructure across the full range of environmental, social and economic impacts. Come and learn more about the Reimagine Phoenix initiative to increase the city’s waste diversion rate to 40 percent by 2020 and to better manage its solid waste resources.

This event is open to School of Sustainability students and alumni. RSVP required by Thursday, November 9th.

Once RSVP responses have reached 30, the form will close and all inquiries regarding attendance should be sent to Marsha.Gonzaga@asu.edu.
