Finding Serendipity Behind Disciplinary Boundaries: Blurring Science and Engineering
Theodore Pavlic
- Associate Research Scientist
- School of Life Sciences, Arizona State University
In this wide-ranging talk, Pavlic will discuss how to combine engineering and behavioral ecology to better understand living systems, collective decision making in general, and how to build technology to better integrate into a sustainable world.
Pavlic was formally trained as an engineer and his publications span electrical engineering, computer science and behavioral ecology. He has helped to build a new center for biomimicry research and education at ASU that is formally affiliated with Biomimicry 3.8.
Lunch will be provided.
