This Fall’s panel discussion series aims to understand heat as hazard as well as best practices for local governments in mitigating heat risk for the safety of vulnerable populations and sustained quality of life.

This panel explores how communities develop strategies to deal with heat and associated risks while promoting greater safety and sustainability. Experts will discuss how heat as a hazard might be integrated into hazard mitigation accounting, drawing upon state and a city perspectives.

This series is co-sponsored by the Sustainable Cities Network and ASU’s Center for Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
