Biography
Roach is an epidemiologist with a MPH in epidemiology from the University of South Florida. His work primarily revolves around surveillance and prevention activities for heat-related morbidity/mortality and analyzing other climate and health effects for the state. He is in charge of the development of the State of Arizona's Climate & Health Strategic Adaptation Plan and works as a policy advisor on the most effective climate and health-related interventions. In addition, Roach is in charge of reporting hospitalization data to CDC's Environmental Public Health Tracking Network.
He collaborates with many different stakeholders at the federal/state scale and also local community partners. Roach is a member of the Council of State & Territorial Epidemiologists, American Meteorological Society, and the National Environmental Health Association. He serves on several national committees and work groups on climate and health effects and is also the environmental health point of contact in Arizona for the Council of State & Territorial Epidemiologists.
