First round of sustainability project proposals

Today several of the fellows helped out at MetroTech as the first round of sustainability project proposals were selected. Using a rubric, teachers, administrators, and fellows alike graded project proposals to determine their feasibility, level of commitment to sustainability and the quality of the proposal as a whole. In the end, some wonderful projects were proposed and the group selected several to be funded. These include the building of an Adobe playhouse, the creation of water filling stations on campus to reduce plastic bottle use, and the construction of a catchment system to capture rainwater runoff so that it can be reused on campus.
