Biography
Mahir is a PhD student in Environmental Social Science program as a Fulbright scholar. He has trained as an interdisciplinary scholar and holds degrees in Political Science (BA), International Relations (MA), and Environmental Sciences (MSc). He has spent the past several years between Istanbul and London before arriving in Phoenix and worked in an EU-Horizon 2020 funded research project, focusing urban transformation potentials and strategies of Istanbul, Shanghai, and Helsinki. His general research focus is based on urban climate change governance capacities of the local governments in the US and Turkey in order increase chances of fostering climate change implementations.
