Be A Dreamer: Sustainable Fashion and Entrepreneurship

Lauren Lilly

  • Owner and Co-founder, Yellow 108

Please join us for a fashion show put on by School of Sustainability students featuring sustainable, local apparel, followed by a short talk with fashion designer and entrepreneur, Lauren Lilly.

Yellow 108 is a lifestyle brand that is built on a foundation driven by sustainability; from manufacturing and operations to the financial structure and grass roots marketing. The core belief of owner and co-founder Lauren Lilly is that happiness is a choice and maintaining the ability to change especially important. Lilly’s talk will focus on her faith in sustainability and the environmental impact Yellow 108 has made.

A special thanks to Yellow 108 and local Phoenix shops and vendors: Here on the Corner , Bunky Boutique, Vanilla Sunshine, Pure Life and Student Book Center, for donating items for our student fashion show.

The School of Sustainability will also be collecting apparel donations benefitting Threadz Tempe, an organization offering used clothing items to The Teen Resource Center (a project of Commitment to Schools in Tempe/Kyrene, and Tempe Community Council, Inc). Tax receipts will be provided to all who donate to the cause. Please consider bringing gently worn clothing items for donation. Visit http://threadztempe.wordpress.com/ for more information.
