On November 30, 2021, ASU Project Cities hosted its virtual project showcase with the Town of Clarkdale. Two classes worked with the Town of Clarkdale to recommend design features to elevate the Town’s Selna-Mongini Park.  Students presented their high-level findings, and key recommendations for the Town of Clarkdale.  

• STEM & Sustainability Park with Nalini Chhetri’s SOS 498/594: Urban Sustainability Best Practices Application. Eight undergraduate and graduate students worked with the Town’s Community Services to research sustainability education features for the Selna-Mongini Park. Students recommended features such as butterfly gardens, guided tours of the park, and an incorporated water feature. (VIDEO) 
• Smart Towns: Smart Parks with Jared Schoepf’s FSE 104/404: EPICS Gold. Four undergraduate students continued work from the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters to design an integrated wi-fi system for the Town’s Selna-Mongini Park. Students created design schematics for a wi-fi system as well as finalized their wi-fi network and speaker recommendations. (VIDEO)
