Biography

Prasad Boradkar is Professor Emeritus in Industrial Design at Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe and User Research and Sustainability Lead at Google ATAP, in Mountain View, CA. While at ASU, he served as co-director of InnovationSpace and co-director of the Biomimicry Center. InnovationSpace is a transdisciplinary laboratory at ASU where students and faculty from design, business, engineering and sustainability partner with corporations to develop human-centered product concepts that hold societal benefit and minimize impacts on the environment. The Biomimicry Center is an organization dedicated to the exploration of biologically-inspired solutions to problems of sustainability. Prasad is the author of Designing Things: A Critical Introduction to the Culture of Objects (Berg 2010) and is currently working on a book on Indian design.
