Spain/Morocco: Getting the Hang of Things

Spain/Morocco: Getting the Hang of Things

By Mady Tyson

Today we had several very interesting meetings. The first was at the Peace Corps head quarters, then with a deputy minister in the ministry of innovation, technology and industry, and then we travelled to a conservation biologist who headed a large avian reserve. The straight of Gibraltar is a major pathway for birds to migrate through.  There wind energy is having the interesting impact of de-winging or decapitating many of them which is sad.

It has been interesting watching the group emerge from a collection of people who didn’t know each other, it is nice to see how people begin to feel comfortable talking to each other. There is a diversity of backgrounds, ages and characteristics within the group that makes it easier for the group to avoid having typical roles.
