Urban Water Demand Roundtable
DCDC facilitates opportunities to discuss science and policy issues in an environment sheltered from the political and regulatory pressures, which can hinder open discussions. Our science/policy workshops focus on particular topics such has urban water demand and water reuse, which are relevant to Colorado River Basin cities.
Water/Climate Briefings
A regular forum for the water-policy community to exchange knowledge ideas engaging DCDC researchers, stakeholders, students, and the general public. The typical format is a panel of experts and community partners discussing issues such as the urban heat island, water re-use, and the energy-water nexus, followed by audience participation and questions.
Collaborative Research
DCDC continues to build upon its successful model of knowledge and action co-production, in which research, education, and stakeholder engagement activities reinforce one another and explicitly link science to societal impacts. Expanding the place-based case study of Phoenix, our researchers will expand their collaborative research efforts to Denver and Las Vegas, two cities dependent upon the Colorado River Basin.
Since its inception, DCDC has been committed to enhancing societal benefits of science and technology, focusing on the co-production of knowledge and products such as scenarios, models, simulations, and credible, relevant maps.
DCDC facilitates engagement activities to build social networks to enhance knowledge use and exchange and foster social learning in support of adaptive resource governance.
