2017 Point-In-Time Homeless Street Count
The City of Tempe is conducting a Point-In-Time Homeless Street Count on January 24th, an annual community-service event taking place in Tempe, across Maricopa County, and throughout the nation. Data collected helps providers to better understand the homeless situation in their community and to apply for federal, state, and regional funding for housing and other human services.
Following up on our Homelessness Town Hall in August 2016, the Wrigley Institute is forming teams of 3 to 5 volunteers to join this community-wide effort.
Volunteers MUST attend a volunteer Training Session on January 9th to be assigned to a team and learn how to properly count and interview people experiencing homelessness.
The actual count takes place on Tuesday, January 24th from 5:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
To join an ASU team, RSVP below by Monday, January 9th and attend one of the January 9th training sessions. For more info, contact Tempe's Homeless Coordinator: Kim_VanNimwegen@tempe.gov; 480-350-8856
