Botanical Garden: Conserving the Preserves

Join us for the Desert Botanical Garden's inaugural luncheon “Conserving the Preserves” to benefit the Central Arizona Conservation Alliance. The program's featured speaker is Dr. Nichols, a renowned Conservation Scientist and activist. Dr. Nichols, will focus his talk on how the beauty, wonder, and inspiration of the Sonoran Desert enriches each of our lives, and the innate need that each of us has to feel connected to the natural world. The proceeds from the luncheon will support the Central Arizona Conservation Alliance, a collaboration of 50 partnering organizations to study, protect, and promote the Valley's treasured desert mountain parks. Founded by the Arizona Cactus and Native Flora Society in 1937 and established at this site in 1939, the Desert Botanical Garden now has more includes more than 4,000 species and approximately 27,650 individual plants for which scientific records are kept!
