Can We Save Africa's Rhinos?

Mike Slattery is an internationally trained geographer and environmental scientist who teaches and writes on a range of environmental issues from human impacts on river systems to the socioeconomic impacts of utility-scale wind farms. He has led several global conservation programs including the establishment of a research station in the cloud forest of Costa Rica with an attendant program to protect the Green Macaw.
In this talk, Slattery will discuss the rhino-poaching crisis in Africa and how Texas Christian University is implementing a multi-faceted approach to the issue, in a project called the Rhino Initiative.
