Climate Change and Health Symposium
Arizona State University Knowledge Enterprise is pleased to invite you to participate in an in-person Climate Change & Health Symposium on Tuesday, April 18th, with two sessions. The Morning Session will take place from 8 a.m. to noon, and the Afternoon Session will take place from noon to 5 p.m.. The symposium will highlight how issues around heat, water, and ecological determinants of health impact communities, widen health disparities, and drive environmental injustice in interlocking ways. The symposium aims to bring together experts traditionally siloed across diverse academic units to promote transdisciplinary collaboration at the intersection of climate change and health. Over the course of one day, participants will examine the unique aspects of how extreme heat, water insecurity, and other ecological determinants impact human health, with particular emphasis on the needs of disproportionately affected communities. By leveraging our place and making Arizona an empathic and responsive living laboratory, we hope to co-create more adaptable and resilient communities locally and globally. Please join us to hear from key leaders, subject matter experts, and local partners during plenaries, participate in skill-building activities, collaborative proposal design sessions, and share your own work in these areas.
