by Frank Hawkins, a conservation biologist with many years of experience working with governments, financial institutions, civil society, and local communities in Africa and around the world.

Hawkins was instrumental in creating the Coalition for Private Investment in Conservation and in developing the The Species Threat Abatement and Restoration (STAR) Metric biodiversity metric that quantifies the potential contributions that species threat abatement and restoration activities offer toward reducing extinction risk across the world.
