Cuba: Unlocked and on the Edge of Rapid Transitions - Student Reflection
The School of Sustainability sponsored a Global Intensive Experience for a transdisciplinary group of ASU students to visit Havana, Cuba during Spring Break. The group brought in donated school supplies for a refugee school in Marianao. They also spent a day volunteering by painting, pouring concrete, and cleaning up Muraleando, a former waste dump transformed by the community into an arts and public venue. Join us as our students reflect on what they saw firsthand regarding the impacts of tourism and how they plan to help develop solutions to the challenges that Cuban people are facing.
Light refreshments will be served.
