Nearly all Native American nations in the U.S. are threatened by environmental hazards- toxic waste, strip mining, oil drilling and nuclear contamination. For indigenous peoples clean air and water are not just about having good health and quality of life; honoring the earth is part of their spiritual essence.

Filmed against some of America’s most spectacular backdrops, Homeland: Four Portraits of Native Action follows the efforts of activists who are fighting back against big companies and government agencies in four Native American communities.

The post film Q&A will be led by James Riding In, an associate professor of American Indian Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University.
