Change Management in the Face of a New Normal

Kit Batten

  • Climate Resilience Chief, Pacific Gas and Electric

Kit Batten is a recognized expert in climate-change policy with more than a decade of sustainability leadership. She currently leads a company-wide initiative to increase the climate resilience of PG&E’s operations and infrastructure, as well as that of the communities PG&E serves. Batten has a PhD in ecology and has held senior leadership positions in the Obama Administration at the US AID and the Department of Interior, at the University of California, Davis, and NGOs, including the Center for American Progress and the Heinz Center for Science, Economics, and the Environment.

In this concluding GreenBiz University Lecture Series, Batten will discuss her nontraditional career path from science to politics, highlighting her work leading the President’s Global Climate Change Initiative at the US AID; current global, federal, and local climate-change and resilience policy; and opportunities in the energy utility sector for advancing climate-change goals in a new normal.
