Envisioning the Future of Cellulosic Biofuels
Nathan Parker
- Assistant Research Professor, School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning
Nathan Parker is an interdisciplinary researcher working to understand the possible futures for alternative transportation fuels and the transition pathways to those futures. He develops simulation models to envision alternative fuels production and distribution systems, as well as to evaluate their cost, economic viability, and environmental impacts.
Biofuels policies in the US require the production of fuels that do not exist commercially. In this talk, Parker will present his research to simulate a future cellulosic biofuel industry, how we might transition to this future, and the challenges of informing the policy process in an area of high uncertainty.
Lunch will be provided.
