A monthly conversation about thriving in the Anthropocene, featuring innovative thought leaders from ASU and beyondPeter Schlosser is the Vice President and Vice Provost for Global Futures and the University Global Futures Professor at Arizona State University where he holds appointments in the Schools of Sustainability, Earth and Space Exploration, and Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment. Schlosser's research focuses on the hydrosphere, primarily the circulation of water in the oceans, continental surface waters, and groundwater including studies of problems caused by human impact. He is Chair of the International Study of Arctic Change, a member of the Earth League, the American Geophysical Union's Development Board, and the Board of the Sustaining Arctic Observing Networks. He serves on numerous national and international science planning, steering, and advisory committees. He is a member of the German National Academy of Science, and Fellow of the American Geophysical Union, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Explorers Club. He joined ASU from Columbia University, New York, where he is the Ewing-Worzel Professor Emeritus of Geophysics in the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering and Professor Emeritus of Earth and Environmental Sciences. He also has been the Deputy Director and Director of Research of the Earth Institute and the founding chair of the Earth Institute faculty.
