Ellen Stechel is Deputy Director, ASU LightWorks®, Professor of Practice in the School of Molecular Sciences, Senior Sustainability Scientist in the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability, and Fellow in the Institute for the Future of Innovation in Society. Her career has afforded her the opportunity to build and/or coordinate research programs at a national laboratory, in industry, at an agency in Washington, D.C., and now in higher education; in both basic and applied research and in multidisciplinary R&D management. She has held and holds numerous positions of an an advisory or editorial capacity in several countries and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles. Her current research focuses on materials and systems design of concentration solar technologies to produce sustainable hydrogen and liquid hydrocarbons, clean water, and to store energy.
