Paul Shapiro has played an integral role in many successful legislative and corporate campaigns to improve public health and the plight of farmed animals. He’s also authored dozens of articles about animal welfare in publications ranging from daily newspapers to academic journals.
In this talk, Shapiro will chronicle Arizona’s national leadership in sparking this farm animal-welfare revolution and what’s next on the horizon in food sustainability.
We will be collecting donations for 2nd Chance Dogs. The non-profit is in need of the following items this time of year:
Durable dog toys (like Kong’s)
Wet can dogfood (Pedigree Chunks, Alpo – Beef slices)
Dog Treats (Hard biscuit types, soft chews, and milk bones for senior dogs)
Large Wee Wee pads for our senior dogs
A vegan lunch from The Dhaba will be served.
