In this talk, Sam Weaver will discuss how municipalization, or a radically re-structured relationship with its private monopoly supplier, would allow Boulder, CO to meet its Energy Future goals through important drivers like integration of clean fuel sources, increased local business development, more democratic local control and sustainable competitive rates for customers. The event will be moderated by Peter Byck, director and producer of Carbon Nation™ and will dedicate a large portion of time for audience questions.
Sam Weaver leads Cool Energy, Inc., a power conversion equipment company located in Boulder, CO that develops energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions and is a certified benefit corporation (B-corp). Sam also sits on the Board of Directors of Proton Power, Inc, a biomass power and fuels company. He is a member of the City Council of Boulder and has previously served on the State of Colorado Clean Energy Development Authority, and the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association.
Food for this event will be catered by Helpings Cafe, which supports hands-on job training and builds the confidence of individuals in crisis leading to economic independence and helping to break the cycle of homelessness.
