Scalable Climate Solutions
The Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory at ASU and Earthshot™ will be co-hosting two upcoming meetings to bring together policymakers, innovators, and the financial community to discuss accelerating scalable climate-change technology solutions and policy ideas.
While grid and vehicle decarbonization has appropriately captured much of the recent attention, there are many other emerging technologies and strategies that can help us achieve our climate goals quickly and affordably.
In the first planned event, we will provide a technology and policy overview and present 10 innovations as examples of specific opportunities.
Keynote Speakers
David J. Hayes: Special Assistant to the President for Climate Policy at the White House
Peter Schlosser: Vice President and Vice Provost for Global Futures, Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory
Carolyn Green: Managing Partner, EnerGreen Capital
Showcasing Ten Technologies:
• Carbon sequestration in cement
• Near-zero carbon cement
• Enhanced structural insulated panels
• Improving energy efficiency of buildings
• Sealing leaks in ducts
• Improving air quality and reducing HVAC loads in commercial buildings
• Geothermal energy systems for homes
• Electricity-producing and energy-efficient windows
• Reducing methane leaks in oil and gas operations
• Lightweight materials for transportation
Rapid global deployment requires suitable climate-oriented policy initiatives and financial community support. Our next event, in early 2022, will address potential policy and investment solutions.
