Sustainability Storytelling:
Short-Form Documentary Premiere
Join us for an end-of semester tradition -- the virtual screening of two short films created by students from the School of Sustainability and Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, under the direction of Peter Byck, sustainability scientist and director of Carbon Nation™. This semester's films are:
Border Crossing (Cruzando la Frontera)
Young women from Juarez, Mexico aspire to attend US schools and face daily struggles and experiences while crossing the border to El Paso, TX.
Sunny Day Flooding
The people of Jacksonville, FL grapple with the realities of sunny-day flooding while searching for a solution that will save their city.
The films’ subject matter was suggested to our students by Ten Across, which frames the US Interstate 10 corridor as the premier observatory for the future.
