The DIFFER Solar Fuels Program: Fundamental Research on Renewable Energy Driven Chemistry
Richard Van De Sanden
- Director, Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research (DIFFER); Professor, Department of Applied Physics, Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands
Since his appointment at the DIFFER Institute, Richard van de Sanden has focused his research on the physics and chemistry of plasma-surface interaction under extreme conditions and on research into the conversion of renewable energy into fuels and chemicals.
In this talk, van de Sanden will discuss the DIFFER Solar Fuels Research Program, which aims to accelerate the development of enabling technologies for the transition towards a CO2-neutral energy society by2050. The DIFFER Solar Fuels program focuses on renewable energy and driving chemistry to convert feedstock into chemicals and fuels. In addition, van de Sanden will touch on DIFFER's work on microwave plasma activation of CO2.
