Urban Gardens Talk & Tour

David Eberle

  • Owner of Care-A-Lot Farms

Starting with Garlic: An Engineer’s Guide to Sustainable Urban Farming

In 2006, David returned to Phoenix to pursue a career in environmental engineering, working with municipalities and industries on water and sustainability related challenges. Outside of work and exercise, David has devoted much of his time and energy to living more sustainably, building an agricultural oasis, and most importantly, educating others on the importance of real food.

In the past 9 years, David has transformed his home into an agricultural oasis, undergoing constant evolution. Whether its vegetables, fruit trees, chickens, bees, or tilapia, David uses his knowledge of water, sustainability, and engineering to mimic nature and maximize the natural, social, and economic value each new project brings. David will present a brief background of how he got started, as well as simple tips every urban farmer can take to ensure their projects are providing the maximum value to the environment, to their community, and to their family and friends.

In addition to the talk at Changing Hands, there will also be a tour on Saturday, October 29, 2016, requiring a separate RSVP. Please RSVP just for the tour here.
