Bringing the Global Community to the Table: Paris 2015 U.N. Climate Change Conference
Panelists at the Harvard Kennedy School on Nov. 16, 2015, expressed optimism about the U.N. climate conference set to begin in Paris on Nov. 30, calling U.S. participation on the heels of domestic climate-related moves a “game-changer.” Still, they took care to point out that progress, not a solution, is the best-case scenario for the talks.
Sustainability scientist Daniel Bodansky, Foundation Professor of Law at Arizona State University, was a panelist. Other panelists included Robert Stavins, the Albert Pratt Professor of Business and Government at the Harvard Kennedy School and head of the Harvard Project on Climate Agreements; New York Times energy and environment policy correspondent Coral Davenport; and Zou Ji, the deputy director of China’s National Center for Climate Change Strategy. The moderator was Richard McCullough, Harvard’s vice provost for research and a professor of materials science and engineering.
