Transcript
Lek Kadeli, the acting assistant administrator of the EPA Office of Research and Development, noted in this video that the goal of the American Innovation for Sustainability forum was to “facilitate a dialogue, share ideas, foster public and private relationship, to encourage the next generation to continue working on environment innovation.” Also speaking at the forum was ASU President Michael M. Crow, who was introduced by Rob Melnick, executive dean of ASU’s Global Institute of Sustainability.
The April 22, 2012, forum in Washington, D.C., was held in conjunction with the EPA’s annual People, Prosperity and the Planet – P3 – competition at the National Sustainable Design Expo. Hundreds of students from American colleges and universities who were participating in the P3 competition were in attendance at the forum, which was presented by the EPA, along with ASU’s Global Institute of Sustainability and media partner, America Public Media’s Public Insight Network (PIN).
