Biography
Gina Nichols recently received her PhD from Iowa State University and is excited to be an Assistant Professor of Research at the Swette Center. She is an engineer, agronomist, and data scientist by training. Her previous work (see her google scholar page) has focused on quantifying the agronomic benefits of diversified crop rotations. In addition to conducting research on sustainable agriculture, she has several seasons of practical experience working on small-scale vegetable farms. She is interested in designing food systems that benefit farmers, the environment, their communities, and society at large. A native of Colorado, she loves bicycles and eggplant.
