Biography

Philip Arthur is a PhD student at the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University. He has an MA in philosophy from Arizona State University and a BA in economics from Davidson College. Before returning to graduate school, Philip worked as an options trader at the Intercontinental Exchange in New York City and as an adaptive reuse real estate developer in Portland, Oregon. Philip currently serves on the Graduate Student Council of the American Philosophical Association and is working on research related to paternalism, existential risk, and well-being.
