Biography

Trevor Harper is a Sustainability Solutions student in the School of Sustainability. After a hiatus from academia and finding his professional work realm lacking in sustainable solutions, he has decided to return to academia to coalesce his natural passions with an academic backing. His interests include corporate sustainability from both a consumer and employee’s perspective, decreasing waste across local communities, and more specifically at large scale events. As a lifelong athlete and sports fan, his interests also include developing sustainable practices within sports programs, arenas, and events. He plans on taking a critical look at how we can vastly decrease the amount of waste created at not only the spectator and vendor level but also by the players, coaches and staff. The accessibility sports provide to millions of people is something special and he wants to tap into that power to promote sustainable practices across many facets of life.
