Biography
Troy Schmitz is an associate professor in the Morrison School of Agribusiness. He received his B.S. degree in Mathematics (high honors) and Computer Science (honors) from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from University of California, Berkeley. His areas of expertise include international agricultural policy, food security, environmental economics, benefit-cost analysis, and the economics of biofuels and biotechnology regulation. He has worked throughout North America and in the Middle East. Portions of his work have been translated into Turkish, German, French, and Spanish. His current work focuses on the impact of international agricultural policies on health and the environment.
