Changdeok Gim is a doctoral student at Arizona State University. He has been working on infrastructure resilience (e.g., water and energy systems in Arizona) for four years with Dr. Miller (advisor) while participating in a couple of NSF-funded projects (WSC, RIPS, UREx). His research interests include the conception of sociotechnical systems and the role of institutions for infrastructure resilience. In particular, his research topic is on how social and institutional arrangements can contribute to the stability, adaptation, and transformation of infrastructure embedded in urban systems. He got his BA in law and MA in Environmental Studies (& Urban Planning) from Seoul National University (South Korea).
