Jonce Walker is an urban planner and sustainability professional who creates built environment solutions using cues from nature. Chris Starkey is a multi-disciplinary architect with deep knowledge of the environmental sciences.

The human experience of nature in American cities is too often distilled down to non-indigenous street trees, monoculture lawns, and unimaginative tot-lots. Jonce Walker and Chris Starkey will co-present on the need to design urban interventions focused on ecosystem-based, regional solutions. Starkey will argue for designing a site as part of a regional ecosystem, while Walker will describe the impact of nature-based design on human health and pride of place.
