Living the "Farm Sanctuary" Life
Gene Baur
- President, Farm Sanctuary
Gene Baur, co-founder and president of Farm Sanctuary, a rescue, refuge, and adoption center for farm animals, has been hailed as "the conscience of the food movement" by Time magazine. For over 25 years, he has traveled extensively around the US, campaigning to raise awareness about the abuses of industrialized factory farming and our current food systems.
In this talk, Gene will discuss how individual choices can combat environmental degradation and help preserve our planet and those who inhabit it. With ramifications ranging from animal welfare to human health, Gene will address common questions and misconceptions about a plant-based lifestyle and share how individuals can be effective forces of change and compassion.
