Global Futures: Now
What does the War Against Ukraine mean for our Global Future?

For the first time since 1945, there is an international land war in Europe. Since Feb. 24, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has caused severe losses, created over 3 million refugees, spurred potential energy crises across much of the globe, and re-exposed a long-dormant nuclear threat. What does Russia’s attack on a sovereign democracy mean for us and the world?

Social stability is essential to a global future where all of the planet’s inhabitants may thrive, but as these events unfold, we see how stability can be so fragile and precarious. Join us for a special Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory roundtable conversation where we explore the danger Europe and the world now confronts, what this means for democracy and geopolitical dynamics in the immediate and long-term future, globally and here at home.
