Radically Simple Campus-Community Sustainability Partnerships
Jessica Barlow
- Professor, School of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, San Diego State University
Barlow directs the Sage Project within San Diego State's Center for Regional Sustainability. She serves on the University's sustainability committee, climate-action planning council, and on projects that incorporate sustainability into the curriculum.
The Sage Project is based on a model campus-community partnership being replicated nationwide. It is a radically simple way to engage large numbers of students with real-world projects that address the community's pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges.
In this talk, Barlow will describe the projects and the resulting benefits for students, faculty members, the University, and the larger community.
