Transnational Climate Governance and the Global 500
Lily Hsueh
- Senior Sustainability Scientist, Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability
- Assistant Professor, School of Public Affairs
As a public-policy scholar and environmental economist, Hsueh investigates market-based and nonregulatory policies whereby businesses, consumers, and environmental groups can impact environmental protection. In parallel with the top-down, intergovernmental talks at the UN climate change conference in Paris, a “Climate Solutions Hub” will showcase concrete solutions and innovations that businesses, NGOs, and others are initiating.
In this talk, Hsueh spotlights the Fortune Global 500 (the world’s largest companies by revenue) to examine the internal dynamics that motivate some corporations, but not others, to engage in voluntary climate action and carbon disclosure.
Lunch will be provided.
