A Renaissance of Ecological Wisdom in Planning? Why Now?

Drawing upon research findings from a transdisciplinary group of international scholars, Dr. Xiang will present and examine evidence of an emerging interest in ecological wisdom, discuss its relevance to sustainability research and planning, and propose a research agenda.
Wei-Ning Xiang has been with UNCC since 1990. He serves as the founding dean of the School of Ecological and Environmental Sciences, founding director of the Global Institute for Urban and Regional Sustainability, and director of the Shanghai Key Lab for Urban Ecological Processes and Eco-Restoration.
