Jason is interested in flood vulnerability, flood mitigation services from green infrastructure, and the ways that cities use knowledge of both to plan more resilient futures. His work with the UREx SRN involves characterizing social vulnerability and flood exposure in cities in Chile, México, and the US, for use in urban planning workshops. Additionally, he spent a year investigating the seasonal dynamics of urban wetland hydrology in Valdivia, Chile, and is now working with researchers and city planners toward incorporating his findings in formal stormwater management and urban planning institutions in the city. Previously, Jason worked as a research assistant at the Pacific Institute on water delivery stresses in the American Southwest. He obtained an MS in natural resource management from the University of Connecticut, and holds a BS in physics from Drake University, and a BA in geology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
